The route of the Engadin-Express by simtrain.ch includes the actual Engadin line by the Rhaetian Railway between Bever and Scoul-Tarasp, the Upper Engadin triangle formed by St. Moritz and Potresina via Samedan to Bever, the Vereina line from Klosters to Saglians in Lower Engadin and the section of the Bernina line from Pontresina to St. Moritz. The diversity of these track sections is mirrored in the included rolling stock. The TrainSim train driver nearly finds the entire rolling stock of RhB\'s main network as well as some selected Bernina line vehicles. One highlight is the car shuttle train with the BDt 1731 control car, covered car-carrying carriages and open transport- and end wagons. "Allegra Stammnetz Plus" and "RhB Nostalgie" can be installed any time as separate add-ons.

The available Engadin-Express is closing a gap in the RhB-series by Simtrain.ch. Over the past 10 years, routes and trains by the Rhaetian Railway were gradually created. Following this release the metre gauge railway is complete and the TrainSim train driver has the opportunity to experience every route of the Glacier Express.

  • The RhB Engadin line

The actual Engadin line starts in Bever, a stop on the Albula Railway line, passes along the river Inn through the Upper – and Lower Engadin. Along the way you will pass by Madulain with its beautiful Engadin houses, Zuoz with its internationally known Liceum Alpinum. The line reaches Zernez after crossing the impressing Val Mela viaduct near Cinous-chel. Zernez is the starting point of the route crossing the Swiss National Park via the Fuorn Pass and the Stelvio Pass. Afterwards, the train crosses the gorge between Zenrez and Susch and reaches Sagiains, the Southern portal of the Vereina Tunnel. Following the tunnel, you are passing through the Lower Engadin with its villages Lavin, Guarda, Ardez and Ftan until arriving at the northern terminus Scoul-Tarasp. Here you have connection to Samnaun, Landeck and Val Sinestra.

In 2013 this railway line celebrates 100 years since its establishment. In 1913 this section of the Rhaetian Railway was the first Rhaetian Railway line to be electrified from the start. Covering a total length of 50 kilometres, the train passes through 17 tunnels and crosses 79 big and small bridges in this long valley. The gorge between Zernez and Susch came to particular fame as the brown Ge 4/6 391 drove onto an avalanche, crashed into the Inn and could only be retrieved after more than 2 months.
